My Purpose is to live my life by design, aligned, and fuelled by inspirational self-worth! And to support other empowered women to do the same, all whilst having loads of fun! Fun that makes you feel like you’re a kid again - unbridled and magnificent!
My career spans over a few decades in the area of management of people, processes and projects, covering the corporate arena and later, my own small-medium size property development projects. I have worked at the intersection of human insight, leadership, convergence and creativity and now extend this experience to coaching others to live a life and career by design. To reconnecting women back to loving themselves and life.
I believe that many of us are unconsciously looking for consciousness in our lives. We’re unconsciously looking for more - to feel more, to feel different. To live a life and careerndesigned by us, for us. One that is alive, purposeful, meaningful and adventurous. One where we know that we can be whatever we want to be, have whatever lights us up and do amazing, fulfilling things. All the things we choose to do because they make us feel the way we want to feel. To love more, firstly ourselves, to create meaning, to feel fun, have adventure, to know ourselves, actually feel ourselves inside (rather than feeling internally hollow and numb).
I coach women in mid-life as quite simply, I had to work out how to ignite my own purpose and pivot professions in this phase of life. In the year leading up to my 40th birthday I felt dull, directionless and purposeless. I had an inner yearning for more meaning and to live a bigger life. I wanted a different career and to establish my own business at the same time. I started asking myself the questions like; what do I have to offer, what do I really want my life to look like? Then I started searching for the common threads i’d lived so far, in order to make more meaning of who I was today and who I was truly capable of becoming.
I’ve had a few career changes - the majority of my career in corporate management then later moving into medium sized property development with a dabble in real estate acquisitions. I also had some fun in my earlier years cooking in prestigious, boutique European kitchens. I enjoyed it all and my own inner journey helped me to realise that everything I had done was all interconnected and eventually led me to my purpose.
I inwardly sensed that I wasn’t experiencing the joy I knew was possible and I had a bit of a vision of what I wanted in life but I was far from living it. I no longer felt my ‘sparkle’ or like I was moving toward anything, or forward much at all. Life was somewhat ground-hoggish and I was looking outward at others who seemingly had more than me and were living on purpose (my perception!). What was my purpose?
My first point of call was to change something and I decided to do something each day that consciously bought me ‘joy’. I got curious about long forgotten inspirations, dreams and hobbies and through that daily action I led myself back to personal development work, something that had lost my focus in recent years. Step by step by step I worked with coaches to discover my highest values, script out what I wanted in each area of life and transform fears that were keeping me stagnate. Then I allowed my purpose to emerge - not one thing - but how I live my life, how I feel, what I do, my state of ‘be-ing’ and what I have (or what I DON’T have - minimalism now being my preference). It also led me to the business I wanted to build – coaching midlife women to their own inner alignment and next best version of career or business.
Life today feels purposeful. I feel alive and at choice, and who I really am, really matters. I’m no longer just a version of my outer influences because I’ve learnt the importance of putting myself first. I don’t dismiss my own highest values in favour of others and know that this is my life, and I am here to live it authentically and inspired in order to experience the very best of ME. When I am fulfilled, many others benefit from my overflow of energy and happiness.
I know others are looking to do the same and may feel daunted by the road ahead, but the journey can be as fun as it is courageous!
I’m passionate about us humans unlocking our higher potential to create meaningful and purposeful growth in order to live inspired lives according to our own version of abundance and inspiration. Leading to the creation of a ripple effect in our communities toward shared growth.
I am also fascinated with finding my heart in the flavours that I create in the kitchen, great coffee, experiencing fun and adventure with my kids, investigating the balance of courage, persistence and peace that is ocean swimming, dabbling in yoga, transforming and simplifying my home (the never ending journey of a minimalist) and learning to grow my own veggies!
I hold a post-graduate Cert. Management, with supplementary studies in Transformational Leadership Facilitation & Coaching . I’m also a certified Barrett Values Centre Cultural Transformation Tools practitioner.
When I was a kid, I dreamed of being a Teacher and an Architect and now that i’m grown up I get to teach the architecture of a human beings potential!
